Rijeka

The Rijeka team at the content collection meeting at Trieste University. After so much online communication and Skype calls it was good to put some faces to the names! And the team came along with some smashing ideas for the use of "On the Edge" - watch this space for progress.

Thanks guys for all the effort.

Bozidar & Martin

Now there's nothing like a coffee break to get things really going when it comes to discussion! Have you ever thought that meetings should really be just an elongated coffee break with presentations in between? Let's face it - how many times have we all said that the best bits of conferences are the bits where people just talk amongst themselves?

Anyway here's Bozidar Kovacic (Faculty of Philosophy, Rijeka, Croatia) trying to understand this writer's Northern Irish accent!

Coffee in Trieste

A time to take a few phots and bluetooth them around the group!

Regular readers of this blog will be glad to know that adding entries to a blog is possible by mobile phone from Trieste, Italy!

Another milestone...... for the Mobile Martin blog and the Sony Ericsson K800i. Yeahay!!

Alice at the MED!

After an age at Blackpool Airport, and the vagaries of travelling with Ryanair from Stansted to Trieste, - (did you know they have now done away with the wee magazine pockets that all airline seats are blessed with? Saves money, weight and gives increased legroom I suppose! _- Alice eventually reached the Med just as the sun was setting.

Now apparently this area is renowned for it massive winds which explains the various chains around the town taht the local population use to help them stand up in the gales! But as you can see the Med was like a mill pond as the sun disappeared.

Lovely sunset, lovely city, lovely people ..... what more can a weary traveller ask?

The Hibernian Club

Oct 20th 2006

After the Oracle Forum on HE some delegates just couldn't tear themselves away.

Dennis Barrington-Light

Oct 20th 2006
Dennis (Director of Higher Education Strategy, Ciber UK) in full flow about project management on a grand scale.

Coffee?

Oracle's Martin Cuggy and Pat McGuire enjoy a break in the proceedings - only to find themselves blogged and on the internet in two minutes flat! And the coffee was still warm!

Preparing For the Event

Held at the Hibernian Club in Dublin on Oct 20th 2006. This Oracle Higher Education forum - "Achieve Excellence through Information-Driven Education - is the forerunner of a series of event being mounted by Oracle.

Lovely venue - very relaxed - interesting discussions.

If it's Thursday it must be Dublin!

Rocky

One piece of granite.. I think! It represents the Rocky Road to Computing...:-))

Try 2

Just the messiness of my desk at 11am on a Thursday morning. Nothing exciting.

:-)

Pic

First try at this.

My Sony Erricsson 800i has a "Blog it" feature when I take a picture. So I click yes and it says: "Setting up an account and posting blog."

Then wahulla! It's all done and I have the account - strange address but it'll do the trick.

One mobile blog and how much time to set it up? 2 minutes!

Cool or what!
